November is mission month at Bethel. This means that our Sunday morning services reflect our call to reach out to the world around us and that we take up special offerings to support various missions work.
As we enter into this time of special focus on mission, I wonder if there are new or different opportunities for outreach that God may be calling us to. One way to consider this is to reflect on our resources of time and talent and then to explore the needs of the community. In doing this if we find that there is a place where our resources match up well with a community need, we consider whether or not that fits with our vision ( See Bethel's Vision ). If we find a need that fits into our vision and connects with our resources, we should seriously consider the possibility that God may be calling us to act on this.
What are Bethel's resources of time and talent?
What are the needs of our community?
Are there places where our resources match with a community need within our vision?
May God open our eyes to see as God sees and may God lead us to minister in the places and ways that God desires.
