The One Year Chronological Bible - Week 30 Reflection Questions

Week 30 (July 20-26): Micah 6:1-7:20, 2 Chronicles 32:1-31, 2 Kings 18:13-20:19, Isaiah 36:1-57:21

As you read through these passages of the Bible, reflect upon these questions individually, through journaling, in pairs, or in small groups...

1. (7/20) Micah 6 depicts a court case in which God is bringing a case against His people.  What charges might God bring upon us today?  What evidence might He offer?
2. Micah 6:8 tells us what the Lord requires of us: to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God.  What does this look like today?  What are examples of this that you have experienced?
3. Micah 6:12 names the problem having to do with rich people who are violent and inhabitants who are liars.  In what ways is this also reflected in our society today?  What is our role as Christians in addressing these realities?
4. Micah 7:5-6 caution us about trusting even those closest to us in our own families.  How are we to apply this teaching?  How does this match-up to our understandings about community and the way of Jesus?  How do we reconcile these realities?
5. Memorize Micah 7:7 and incorporate this verse into your prayer life.
6. After much judgment and condemnation, Micah 7 ends with words of grace and hope.  How are we to balance these dynamics in our own lives, in our church bodies, and in the world around us?  How do we hold both judgment and grace in appropriate balance?
7.

May the Lord bless and shape us through our individual reading and corporate study of His word this year.
