Pastor's Log - Sabbatical Date: 2-2-22 - 22:22
After being gone for over a week of camping, Wednesday was time to clean and get organized. Beth also took Elam and Silas in for some doctors appointments and then took Elam and Maggie to the Library for some activities that they signed up for this summer. That evening, the oldest 3 had VBS across the street and Beth's sister-in-law dropped off our niece, Audrey, for an extended stay with us.
Thursday, we continued to pull things back together and enjoyed spending time with our niece. That evening, we went over to watch the VBS closing program and to join in the fellowship that followed. When we got back, Beth went to go to the grocery store and discovered that the van battery was dead again. We used our car to jump it and I took it to Advanced Auto parts for their free battery test. The test showed that it needed replaced so I bought a new one. After which, I posted this status update on my Facebook page, "
Two
months ago, we bought a used van with a 60 day warranty on it...today
is day 62 and I just had to replace the battery on it. Well played Mr.
Dealer. Well Played..."
Friday consisted of cleaning and laundry but also more time with Audrey. Plus Beth went to Fletcher to pick up her Grandma Hardman. Since all of the "Rode side" of the grandkids were here, we thought it would be good to have her over for lunch and to spend time with the grandkids. That night we went over to a friends house to have a Wii game night.

Saturday, Beth took Audrey back to her mom and then took our kids to a bat program at the library. Maggie had a loose tooth that she wasn't able to get out and she actually agreed to letting Elam "help her." He got it out pretty easily. I tried to work on "re-wronging" the electrical on the camper to make it right for Randy's van but decided to wait until I have my dad and Randy's van here to make sure I get it right, I mean "wrong." A friend stopped by while I was out there and we chatted a bit before he gave us a bunch of green beans. Beth did a spray tie dye activity with the kids that they learned during their library activity. After supper, Beth and I played darts.
Sunday we got up and went to church at Mechanicsburg Christian Fellowship. After an afternoon of laundry, we sat down together to watch the movie Dinosaur together as a family.
