Preparing for Reentry

Pastor's Log- Sabbatical Date: 2-3-26 - 23:12

A Radish from our Garden
On Friday, I got the kids off to school and worked out with Rick.  That morning, I finished reading the book Insurgent.  That afternoon, I read, puttered around the house and worked on my blog.  In the evening, we began our new tradition of having pizza and watching a movie together on Friday nights.  After the kids were in bed, Beth and I watch the animated version of The Hobbit.  She found it a while back on VHS at Goodwill.

On Saturday, I went on an extended bike ride with Tony.  He is a fellow Mennonite Pastor who was also on Sabbatical this summer.  We said at the beginning of the summer that we needed to do this, but it took until the last day of his sabbatical to get it worked out.  We think that we rode about 20 miles on some rails to trails paths south of Urbana.  It was a great ride.  My oldest had a doctor's appointment.  I did some reading until supper.  After the kids went to bed, Beth and I sat down to watch the movie, The Expendables.

On Sunday, we worshiped at Gretna Brethren and then went to the Bethel church picnic.  We spent some time that afternoon cleaning the house.  In the evening, I hosted Rick and Alex for Lord of the Rings Risk while Beth and Jessica watched Pride and Prejudice.  Alex majorly cleaned up the board.
